Couldn't get the headphones to connect, but I could power them on (while on the dock) and change modes, DOLBY mode, etc. Charging status lights on the base station doing that 'Wig Wag' back and forward white flash (the same one you get if you don't dock the headphones correctly) no matter what I tried. As in, no lights on the headphones at all, from time to time, I would need to hard reset them to get the headphones to power on again or get the amber charge light to go on, but still no connection would occur to the Base Station regardless of how many times I tired this. (I could get it to go white if I turned them power switch on, but it wouldn't sync to the base station.) Amber Light on the headphones ON when headphones were docked to the base station or when I plugged a USB cable directly into the headphones. So to clear up any confusion about my particular situation and where this fix applies:
I hope this helps you get your A50's up and running too. I spent over two hours figuring out the correct combination to get this to work, I've outlined it step by step below. I couldn't even update the firmware, it would fail at Step 3. Yeah, they just disconnected from my base station and no matter how many times I hard reset them, or tried to put the base into bootloader mode, I wasn't getting anywhere. So like many MANY people on here, my A50's randomly stopped working today.
